ABOUT US
The A&DHS supports its membership with guest speakers at monthly meetings, learning experiences, competitions, volunteer opportunities and more.
Our extensive public projects and partnerships include our Town Beautification Project, the Native Seed Project, community grants, and the always popular spring and fall plant sales.
We work to foster interest in growing plants in local children and youth in a number of ways, including planting seeds with elementary school students and providing an annual bursary to an Almonte High School student pursuing a career in horticulture or a related field.
Lavender (lavandula) is the official flower of the Almonte & District Horticultural Society.
The A&DHS is incorporated under the Ontario Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act and operates with Officers and a Board of Directors. We are affiliated with the Ontario Horticulture Association, District 2. The Town of Mississippi Mills provides an annual grant to the A&DHS to support its projects.
