TOWN BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT

From spring to fall, the Town Beautification Project's team of volunteers can be found around the community of Almonte working on several undertakings:

  • The Pollinator Garden located behind the Almonte Library and alongside the Alameda promenade. Our flagship public garden is filled with flowers, plants and. New in 2025 was a native plant bed.
  • Cenotaph and Veteran’s Memorial Wall garden beds where we plant tulips and annual flowers.
  • Flower urns displayed at several locations in downtown Almonte, including at the Legion.
  • Helping maintain the pebble mosaic garden beside Old Town Hall and the 'Peace Garden' at Old Perth Road and Bridge Street.

Funding for the Town Beautification Project is raised through our twice-yearly plant sales and from a grant from the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.

Become a volunteer: Become a member of our fun volunteer crew by joining the A&DHS. We meet each Wednesday morning. More than just beautifying, it is therapeutic, gratifying and a fun way to make new friends. No experience required – we love to introduce new people to the joy of gardening!
